Bareboat Charter Los Angeles
For bareboat yacht charters in Los Angeles (and to Catalina and beyond), you simply charter (rent) the yacht and you skipper the boat. We accept ASA 103, 104 and 114 Certifications. Note that charterers holding Certification, but lacking prior bareboat charter experience, will be required to hire one of our licensed captains for a four hour supplemental training at the beginning of their first bareboat charter with BPY. This is a $200 cost paid directly to the captain.

Charters are considered booked when 50% deposit is received. After that point you have limited opportunities to re-schedule or cancel your charter booking. There are situations where weather or a mechanical/service issue on the vessel require a reschedule from the BPY end. Otherwise, options are as noted in the document below.

Best Weather in the Country…. But
While Southern California enjoys some of the fairest and most consistently good weather in the USA, we will on rare occasions have to postpone a charter due to inclement weather (typically a Small Craft Advisory). This decision is made at the discretion of the captain and management of BPY. If a decision to postpone a charter is made, it is done so with the safety and comfort of of our clients in mind. If foul weather is forecast we urge you to contact us for an update.
Suggested Clothing
Deck shoes with white soles and a warm jacket are essential year round. Casual comfortable sports clothing is recommended – layers are the way to go. Please pack all personal gear in a soft case or duffle bag, and remember that boats have very limited storage space.
NO HARD SUITCASES are permitted on the boats.
